The nutrition issue in the food of the world is becoming serious. While all across the globe there are people suffering from poor nutrition, there are also a vast number of people afflicted by lifestyle diseases. Moreover, even in Japan where there is a strongly rooted food culture that is friendly to nature, issues such as declining food self-sufficiency rates and more and more people eating alone have become critical. In today’s world, learning widely and deeply about food is essential in order that all life on the planet can live healthily. At the Faculty of Food and Nutritional Science students will pursue wide-ranging studies of food from a scientific perspective, face up to global food issues, and cultivate the strength and ability to contribute to the society of the future.
