The Graduate School of Food and Nutritional Sciences deepens among students an enriched academic knowledge in sciences related to food, culinary science and nutrition, and cultivates sophisticated research capabilities. It cultivates human resources who can use these capabilities by applying them to solve various issues surrounding food and nutrition, and become active internationally.
Our objective is that students equip themselves with sophisticated and satisfactory academic knowledge and skills, and obtain the proficiency to be able to multilaterally and professionally plan, propose and execute methods to resolve issues regarding food and nutrition.

In the present day, as we face a super aging society, the role played by food for the sake of heath and comfortable lifestyle is increasingly important. The Graduate School of Food and Nutritional Sciences, Division of Food and Nutritional Sciences (tentative name) will, in order to contribute to food not only for health but also peace of mind, involves itself in the nutrients and functions of food, culinary science operations, quality of taste and the relationship between food and disease, and scientifically pursue a wide range of issues in eating habits and the food environment.
The opportunities for activity after graduation are wide and varied and include researchers in "food science," "science of culinary science," and "nutrition science" at university and corporate research institutions, registered dietitians at university hospitals and advanced medical care facilities, holders of specialist licenses as home economics teachers or diet and nutrition teachers, progress to the Doctoral Program and university faculty. For the sake of the consumers who will shape the future and a vibrant, sustainable society, the Graduate School will encompass everything from the food environment to the latest technology, maximize its specialist knowledge and skills regarding food, and foster the professionals who will create the food of the future.
