The Graduate School of Human Life Science is, while based on the existing Master's program at the Graduate School of Human Sciences and Design, a three-year doctoral program organized independently from the Master's Program. The Graduate School of Human Life Science is not limited to the specialized fields of the Graduate School of Human Sciences and Design, but also recognizes the significant changes in the natural and social environment in recent years, and conducts research in the interdisciplinary fields covering all aspects of human life.

The Graduate School of Human Life Science aims to deepen individual specialized research as well as to develop research that takes a broad and comprehensive view of life and aims for a new dimension. For this purpose, the Graduate School is composed of two divisions: the Division of Human Development and the Division of Living Environment. Graduates will be awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
