Three Policies of the Division of Living Environment

Diploma Policy

Knowledge and understanding

  • Students will have advanced academic knowledge and creativity to tackle contemporary challenges related to the living environment and to construct optimal research methods.

Thinking and judgment

  • Students will be able to face on behalf of mankind the various issues on this our one and only planet Earth, and have the ability to think and judge appropriately.

Interest, volition, attitude

  • Students will be able to understand the impact and effects of research subjects on human life and have a high awareness of improving the quality of life and contributing to society.

Skills and expressions

  • Students will be able to present their research results and boast good communication skills between researchers.
  • Students will be able to actively participate in and make presentations at national and international academic conferences.

Curriculum Policy

Knowledge and understanding

  • In order for students to acquire and practically apply research methods in specialized areas, lectures and seminars are offered in each specialized subject.

Thinking and judgment

  • Two areas of specialization are offered; one for the study of latest chemistry and biology, and the other for the study of the latest achievements in food, clothing, housing and social and family economics.

Interest, volition, attitude

  • Specialized subjects are offered to investigate the functions and interrelationships between humans and the natural environment, and between humans and objects, and to examine them from historical, formative and social scientific perspectives.

Skills and expressions

  • Seminars are offered for students to acquire the ability to operate various research equipment, programs, etc. and analyze data in accordance with the purpose of the research.
  • Students will be able to have the ability to summarize their research results in papers and discuss them at academic conferences, etc.

Admission Policy

Knowledge and understanding

  • Students who have high aspirations as researchers and are able to investigate the issues facing contemporary society.

Thinking and judgment

  • Students who have can accurately grasp and objectively analyze the issues inherent in human life.

Interest, volition, attitude

  • Students who aim to conduct high level research at universities, companies or research institutes and are able to work on their own research topics.

Skills and expressions

  • Students who are able to disseminate the research results in their specialized field to the world and play an active role in society.
