Three Policies of the Graduate School of Human Sciences and Design

Diploma Policy

  • Students have a broad knowledge of the human sciences and design and have acquired a high level of expertise in a specialized field.
  • Students will be able to identify and solve today's issues related to household life with an awareness of the social role of the human sciences and design.
  • Students will be able to present their research results with accurate expression and communication skills with advanced specialized knowledge and skills in the human sciences and design.
  • Students will be able to contribute to society at large with comprehensive judgment and creative research skills based on the specialized knowledge and skills in in the human sciences and design.

Curriculum Policy

  • Human Life and Social Research" is offered as a common subject of the Graduate School of Human Sciences and Design to enables students to acquire the research methods and statistical processing necessary for conducting research in the graduate school.
  • Lectures are offered to enable students to acquire more advanced specialized knowledge in each field of the human sciences and design.
  • Subjects that involve experiments, practical training and fieldwork are offered so that students can learn how to conduct comprehensive and practical research in the human sciences and design field.
  • Through individualized guidance, students are required to complete a master's thesis (including a master's work) of the standard stipulated in the University's degree regulations.

Admission Policy

  • Students who aspire to solve problems related to household life and conduct research for the creation of affluent lifestyles with advanced expertise in the human sciences and design.
  • Students who want to contribute to society with the aim of improving people's lifestyles.
