The Division of Japanese aims to cultivate advanced academic knowledge in Japanese literature, Japanese language studies and related fields, to deeply explore the essence of these fields, and to foster human resources who can contribute to the inheritance and further development of Japanese culture. In the Master's program students work to acquire specialized knowledge and elucidate their fields of specialization. In the doctoral program, they aim to write their doctoral dissertation through creative research based on a broad perspective and cultivate the ability to promote academic research.
Human Resource Development and Educational and Research Purposes
In the first half of the doctoral course, students acquire specialized knowledge and deepen their own research topics academically, and cultivate the ability to contribute to education and the inheritance and development of Japanese culture as advanced professionals. In the second semester, students aim to write doctoral dissertations through creative research based on a broader perspective, and to develop the ability to play a leading role in academic research and other areas.
