To tackle the challenges of today's diverse welfare issues - Building a solid foundation of scholarship and expertise

The Division of Social Welfare fosters students to tackle the challenges of today’s welfare issues while incorporating a wide range of related fields of study. In the Master’s program, through coursework, the Division will:

  1. Cultivate researchers who have learned correct research methodology,
  2. Provide training and guidance for social workers who have acquired high problem-solving skills and are research-oriented.

In the doctoral program, students aim to obtain a doctoral degree through careful and individualized thesis guidance.

Human Resource Development and Educational and Research Purposes

The Division aims to develop human resources who have advanced research and practical skills by conducting theoretical research from an international perspective and exploring theories and methods of policy formation and assistance practice in order to resolve the issues relating to social welfare and social work in today's increasingly diverse and complex society.
