Learn about the Graduate School of Science
The Graduate School of Science has two Divisions: the Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and the Division of Material and Biological Sciences. The Division of Mathematical and Physical Sciences has the subdivisions of Mathematical Structure, Science in Information Systems Architecture, and Structural Physics, and is engaged in research based on mathematics, computer science, and physics. The Division of Material and Biological Sciences includes the subdivisions of Material Function, Cell and Molecular Function, and Physiological Function, and is engaged in research based on chemistry and biology down to the molecular level. Both divisions conduct research from the basic to the cutting edge, and students learn so that they can put their knowledge into practice based on logical thinking and solid techniques at various workplaces. In order to respond to the interdisciplinary trend, the Graduate School has created an environment where students can take lectures and exchange opinions across the two divisions. It is hoped that students will step into society with the ability for deep inquiry and free thinking.
