Creating a better social environment where each individual can play an active role.
We are the first Faculty in Japan that bears the name of “Faculty of Integrated Arts and Social Sciences.” A new attempt to investigate and educate not only the humanities or social sciences, but "humans and society" in a more comprehensive manner, began here at the Japan Women’s University. The four departments (Department of Studies on Contemporary Society, Department of Social Welfare, Department of Education and Department of Psychology) offer a variety of classes, small-group seminars, and practical training in their respective fields, which help students obtain both "rich knowledge" to deeply understand "humans and society", and "socially practical skills" that are based on this knowledge. Our goal is to get students acquire good knowledge and practical skills that will be the foundation for a rich humanity and a woman's life. We aim to nurture careers that will contribute to society, with a focus on human services and other expanding occupational fields. A relaxed and spontaneous learning environment will ensure your growth.
